| ABOUT THE ARTIST
Danny Heines is a guitarist who, in addition
to dazzling technique, also possesses the gift of inspired composition.
His pieces combine strong melodies with a uniquely powerful rhythmic approach
that makes for intensely captivating music. Vanishing Borders, showcases his extraordinary technique on the guitar. His last two records, One Heart Wild and Every Island, have swept radio, often charting in the Top Five in Gavin, R&R and Billboard. Jazziz Magazine placed Every Island at #1, while Billboard placed it in the Top Twenty for 1989. A compilation of Heines' first two albums has been released in Mexico on the "Productiones Fonograficas" label. All his albums, as well as the Windham Hill Guitar Sampler on which he appears, continue to enjoy consistent airplay and sales in Japan, Europe, and elsewhere abroad. Danny's live performance is a musical experience to remember, with visually compelling guitar techniques that leave audiences truly amazed. Recently, he thrilled listeners at Acoustic Guitar Magazine's "Inner Circle Concert." He also launched KKSF's "Rising Star" concert series and continues to perform throughout North America. Danny has performed with Michael Manring and Alex DeGrassi, and currently plays with Paul McCandless and Vicki Randle of the "Tonight Show Band." He appears on Jeff Beal's Objects in the Mirror and Shadowfax's recent album, Magic Theatre. Heines began playing guitar at age 10. He studied with jazz bassist Vishnu Wood and later with guitarist Mick Goodrick. In the early 80's, Heines gained a loyal following in Michigan, and did the same in Colorado. He now resides in San Francisco, where he performs, records and teaches.
