After listening to "Hand Woven," terms like Celtic Fusion or World Harp come to mind. Lorin states, "At the core is the Celtic harp, a magical instrument, over which are layered vocal harmonies and instruments in many different combinations. My goal was to create an instrumental album with my voice as one of the components. I feel this recording has accomplished this with a very individual sound."

Joining Ms. Grean on "Hand Woven" are Grammy Award winning violinist Charlie Bisharat, who performed with artists as diverse as Harry Connick Jr. and Yanni. Kevin DiSimone, on piano and synthesizer, has toured with Stevie Wonder and Bette Midler. Randy Tico, bassist and percussionist, has worked with Flora Purim and Airto, Strunz & Farah and others.

"The blend of instruments is achieved skillfully. The music is some of the most interesting melodically that I've heard lately, and the arrangements are in a class by themselves." -The New Times, Seattle, WA

"One of the best albums of 1997, a must have." -PLANET EARTH MUSIC

ABOUT THE ARTISTLorin Grean

Using the harp like a loom, Ms. Grean weaves musical fibers from around the globe into a new and innovative musical tapestry. As the Irish bodhran pulses percussively, African tribal chanting swells in the background and a piano lightly taps out a few bars of jazz. Synthesizer, bass and native flute melt together magically. Lorin's limber voice, chanting familiar and warm, is a constant companion.
