The film and soundtrack both have a decidedly Native American influence featuring songs by Robbie Robertson with Primeaux and Mike, Walela (Rita and Priscilla Coolidge & Laura Satterfield), Joanne Shenandoah, Sacred Spirits and Mary Youngblood. With an original film score by Michel Cusson, actual howls of wolves recorded live in the wild and songs by Bruce Cockburn and Paul Winter, this soundtrack captures the growing popularity and appreciation for the reintroduction of wild wolves.

From the evocative sounds of Michel Cusson's compositions, beginning with the adventurous “Sawtooth Mountain” and culminating with the mournful “Death of a Legend,” the emotion and excitement of the film experience are brought back to life. The music of WOLVES is an inspiring and educational experience that portrays Native peoples’ appreciation for wolves and for the earth.
